Different types of BIS Certification Schemes
2. Foreign Manufacturer’s Certification Scheme: It was launched in the year 2000 for overseas applicants and foreign manufacturers.
3. Schemes for Domestic Manufacturers:
- Normal Procedure: in this procedure, the applicant applies for the BIS certificate and BIS officers come for preliminary factory evaluation and the license is issued to the person within 4 to 6 months of applicant’s recording.
- Simplified Procedure: it has been introduced to provide a pace to the procedure of granting the license to an applicant. In the simplified procedure, applicants can expect to get their certificate within the 30 days of submission of an application for BIS certificate.
